Languages, music, math, and probably many other things invented or discovered by humans are interconnected. And men, highly likely, are the connection. Take sound and rhythm, which one came first? We start hearing our breath and the rhythm, the beat of our hearts, at the same time. We have a special verb for receiving the sound - to hear, but there is none dedicated to beat. Why?

on re- verbs

Some verbs are weird. Take ‘redo’ and ‘reconstruct’. While ‘redo’ is more general and doesn't specify the reason (why should I do it again?), ‘reconstruct’ basically means the same, but points to some specific aspect - redo in order to get back the original construction or the original functionality. And so is ‘restore’. Then we have ‘restructure,’ which technically means to change the internal organization. Re- verbs rarely, if at all, re-veal the purpose. Why do we need so many of them if we already have a gorgeous AGAIN?
